"Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.
In effect, the people who change our lives the most begin to
sing to us while we are still in darkness. If we listen to
their song, we will see the dawning of a new part of ourselves."

Rabindranth Tagore

Existential Intelligence is the sensitivity and capacity to engage questions about human existence – how we got here, whether we have a purpose, and whether there is meaning in Life. Existential intelligence embraces the exploration of aesthetics, philosophy, religion and values like beauty, truth, and goodness. A strong existential intelligence allows human beings to see their place in the big picture, be it in the classroom, community, world, or universe.

First proposed by Howard Gardner, existential intelligence is one of nine theorized intelligences and is considered to be amoral – that is, it and the other eight categories of human intelligence can be used either constructively or destructively.

Color Monday

In honor of glorious color, and to allow my brain time to process on the back burner, I propose Color Monday: This week - the color of spring - yellow green:

  1. mmmmm: my favorite color! I'm mystified by the 4th photo.....I want to say ginger root, but I don't think so. It must be a Texas thang!

  2. stump at Quilting by the Lake last summer - an oasis of green after being in Texas for several very dry months!

  3. Spring Green just exudes life, doesn't it? It's very early spring in Reno and we see some forsythia, daffodils and some greening grass but no emergent leaves yet. Snow yesterday and sunshine today, that's spring for you!

  4. Yellow green is fantastic when added to a piece which needs a lift. It seems to bring everything to life.

  5. My favorite color Jane, yellow green..at least one of my very favorites! Thanks for sharing. The photos are great, love 1, 2, 4, 7, and who are those guys????

  6. I left for FL on Apr 1 and returned last night, Apr 9. We followed Spring all the way down and all the way back. It was an incredible week; Spring Green all the way.
